Ski Instruction

Children’s Nordic Ski Lessons

Class # 1 of 4. REGISTRATION CLOSES JAN 6.

BRTA offers beginning and advanced lessons to kids aged 5 to 12. Beginning classes are for new skiers, or beginning or second year children that need to refresh their skills. The advanced class is for stronger, truly proficient skiers. Students having completed just one beginning class do not qualify for the advanced class.

Lesson time: 1:00-2:30 pm. The lessons are progressive and are not repeated. We use many different games as a means of instruction, so our instructors create lots of smiles and fun for the kids. If bad weather prevails on any lesson day, the class will be cancelled. Parents should monitor their email and Facebook for class status.

Class fee: $10 for four lessons.

Note: This is not a “drop off” program. Parents will be asked to volunteer with program tasks, be assistants in the classes and be available for recovery.

Lessons may be offered for parents as well. Remember, you don’t want your kids to ski better than you.

Location: Red Lodge Nordic Center parking lot on Smith Rd.

To register: contact Tracy Emineth: brtakidsxcski@gmail.com, or sign up at the BRTA Ski & Gear Swap November 11, 11 am-1 pm.

Sylvan Peak, Red Lodge also rents kids and adult ski equipment.

Adult Nordic Ski Lessons

The focus will be on beginners and less experienced skiers. Show up on time at the RLNC parking lot, sign in with Grant, pay up, and learn to ski better. Note that there are no rentals at the Nordic Center; bring your own gear or rent from Sylvan Peak in Red Lodge or The Basecamp in Billings; (reserve ahead of time because some weekends sell out).

Sign up with Grant the week of Jan. 14: gbtelemark@gmail.com. (We have a limited number in each group to provide quality instruction).
